Sailing on turquoise waters with the red golden hues of a tropical sunset in the background; exchanging rings accompanied by the murmur of waves, dinner under the stars and breakfast in the comfort of the lagoon: there is hardly anything as romantic as a wedding in Mauritius on the ocean!

The wedding takes place in the late afternoon in the midst of the lagoon. Snacks and drinks are served around the short ceremony during which you exchange rings while the sun sets dramatically in the background. When you tie the knot on a catamaran, you have a pristine environment, absolute privacy and the most romantic setting all at once. We then sprinkle it with luxury by using a Lagoon 500 catamaran with a crew that is highly trained and motivated to make your wedding and honeymoon night the most romantic and unforgettable.

Pickup location: The catamaran will depart from the jetty, generally Grand Bay. Transfer is not included in the tariff but can be arrange on client’s demand.

Itinerary

The usual itinerary for the wedding cruise is as follows:

You need to assure that the official wedding formality is in order at least two days prior to the Catamaran wedding.

On the wedding day, you will depart from the jetty at Grand Bay or for special arrangement from the beach by pirogue (local fishing boat) or from the jetty of your resort. On board the catamaran, everything will be prepared and personnel will be ready to attend to the wedding couple and their guests.
The catamaran crew will sail out to a good location. A photographer will take pictures throughout the ceremony.
The wedding is conducted by civil status officer. The vows will be exchanged and recorded in the civil status book.
The ceremony normally lasts for about 30 minutes. The officer will be available for pictures during the ceremony.
Wedding cake and champagne is served before dinner, so as to pose for the wedding photos during the sunset.
Dinner is served for the couple
After dinner the catamaran sail back to Grand Bay where the just married couple will disembark at the jetty.

Participant Guidelines

We suggest that the couple consider bringing the following with them or making the time to buy these in Mauritius:

Wedding dress properly packed. There are plenty of designers and tailors on the island that can assist (tailored made dress or suit generally take 3 to 5 days depending on complexity of their design)
Personal make up and perfumes
Wedding rings. Should you prefer custom-made rings we highly recommend Ravior (100% Mauritian made jewellery).
Shoes for the wedding (Larger sizes are not easily found on the island)
Particular stationery items or guest cards

Catamaran wedding tips

Wear footwear appropriate for a boat; you may consider bringing two pairs to change before and after the ceremony. May we remind you that this is the perfect chance to have a barefoot ceremony! A light jacket or shawl is recommended as temperature drops a little after the sun sets.

Bride may want to get extra hairpins for their hairdo, as it can get breezy on the boat. Also, do not forget to bring a hair repair and makeup kit along, as you cannot go back to your room to fix yourself up before the photos are taken.

Other Disclosures: In case the weather conditions are not favourable, We will try to reschedule as per the wishes of the couple. In some cases additional fees or costs such as for new flower decorations may occur.

The wedding cannot take place either the bride or the groom, or both, fail to produce the necessary documents on the required date.
